When Mary and Joseph present the infant Jesus in the temple, Simeon the prophet interprets his life for us….as a sign to be opposed. Jesus will divide the world, he will be a sign of confrontation. Actually, all children are signs, teaching us about the past and the future, giving us the perspective that God will use the humble things of this world to reveal himself and to bring the best out of us. We are all children of God, images of God, and our lives are intrinsically meaningful. Luke 2: 22-45
