Lent week 1 – Psalm 91. Lent is a time to take stock once again of our attitudes, both toward life and toward God. One attitude that we need to expel is a sense of entitlement or ‘expectation’.

Expectation is the spiritual counterfeit to hope. Both are desires aimed at the future, but both come from different places in our hearts. We need to exchange our attitudes of expectation, based in pride and control, for attitudes of hope based in meekness and faith. Christ and the Apostles are our models here.
